You may recall that two years ago I bought some controversial fully upholstered outdoor furniture from Arhaus. People didn’t know what to think.
“That sofa is for outside???”
“That’s going to get so dirty!”
“How do you keep it clean?”
The main reason I bought it was because I was sick of replacing cheap furniture from Wayfair and Home Goods every year. I got it at a good price and I didn’t cost much more than Costco sets and there was no assembly required.
The folks at Arhaus assured me that it would hold up against the elements even without it being under a roof.
I was religious about keeping it under a cover when it wasn’t in use (which was all but one day last year).
So when it came time to host a Memorial Day cookout with my family this past weekend, I decided clean the deck off and put the furniture to use.
When we took the covers off the sofa was pretty dirty. On the website it said to just use dish soap and water so we did and it cleaned up really easily.
I gotta say I was really impressed. There was a teeny bit of mold on the swivel chair so I sprayed that with bleach (again, the website said that was okay). And it all cleaned up great! I’m super impressed with this furniture and happy that it’s still holding up beautifully.
After going back and forth I decided to get a new outdoor rug. The one I picked has sort of a Golden Girls feel which I love.
Everyone always asks about the egg chair. That is also two years old and has held up really well. I suppose the egg chair and the coffee table are the statement pieces of the space.
So would I buy it again?
Yes, if it’s on sale.
Would I recommend it?
Yes, if you will keep it covered and take care of it, everything will last a long time.
I’m so looking forward to years to come with my Arhaus outdoor furniture.
