Botanical pasted
It took me awhile, but I’m officially in love with wallpaper. It’s true what they say, once you start using it, you’ll want to use it in every space. I know a lot of you probably have horror stories about wallpaper removal. But nowadays, modern wallpaper is much easier to work with. If you’re feeling hesitant, it’s best to start small and go from there. You can always choose a grasscloth, or something that has more of a textural look rather than a pattern. Also it might be a good idea to wallpaper a space where you don’t spend a lot of time. If you wallpaper your living room in a plaid pattern, that can get tiring much easier than a paint color.
Some suggestions for places that can use wallpaper:
Everyone’s favorite: a powder room
A hallway or vestibule
Guest Room
A closet (I did the ceiling in mine)
Dining room
Office
Floral peel and stick
Wallpaper Patterns
There tends to be two different categories of wallpaper patterns; geometric and organic. I have only used organic, but I’m absolutely dying to find a nice striped or plaid wallpaper for my son’s room when he’s a teenager.

Peel and Stick or Traditional
I’ve used two types in my home; traditional pasted and peel and stick.
It can be tempting for the novice to use peel and stick because it’s basically a giant sticker you have to adhere to the wall. However, it’s important to note that it’s SUPER sticky, so not very easy to adjust and move around once you’ve placed it on the wall. Traditional pasted wallpaper however can be adjusted and tweaked as needed.
In addition, peel and stick wallpaper tends to be vinyl. There’s nothing wrong with vinyl wallpaper if it has a nice pattern, but if the pattern is cheesy, it can look really tacky, very quickly. There are paper peel and stick wallpapers but they can be pricey and a bit more difficult to work with as they don’t stretch like vinyl wallpapers can (if needed).
